Hi Leute!

Also danke schon mal,
Brandywein

(be)sticht mit Gefühl
eventuell hast du ja schon die richtige antwort, aber vielleicht bringt es was, wenn du deinen suchbegriff richtig schreibst: forty-five statt "fourty five"

erste treffer, aber die werden wohl eher nicht in discos laufen ;-).
Status Quo: Forty-Five Hundred Times

There's nobody on the end of my line
I'm in time but somebody's missing
Maybe I can find a hand for my hand
If I find a well for my wishing
Be my friend, be my friend

It gets lonely on a table for two
Laughing on your own can be no fun
Even people that are talking to you
Remind you that you're really with no-one
Be my friend, be my friend

Take me over like a thing from the past
Lots of people wishing they'd been there
No-one knowing just how long it would last
But I'm sitting still here in my chair
Be my friend, be my friend

Forty-five hundred times I told you how much I care
Forty-five hundred times I told you how much I care
Problems halved are the problems that we can share
White lies in our eyes, together not really there

Forty-five hundred times I told you you can lean on me
Forty-five hundred times I told you you can lean on me
Though it's taken a long time for you to see
Where we're at is the right place for us to be

I sure want to stay here, it sure feels fine
I feel I could be here a long long time
Now that I've made it, I don't want to fade it
Now that I've made it with you

We came a long way, a slow way too
Up from the down way and back to you
Now that I've made it I don't want to fade it
Now that I've made it with you

Elvis Costello: Forty-Five

Bells are chiming for victory
There's a page back in history - 45
They came back to the world that they fought for
Didn't turn out just like they thought - 45
Here is a song to sing to do the measuring
What did you lose, what did you gain, what did you win?

Nine years later a child is born
There's a record so you put it on - 45
Nine years more if we're lucky now
Nine year old puts his money down - 45

Every scratch, every click, every heartbeat
Every breath that I held for you - 45

There's a stack of shellac and vinyl
Which is yours now or which is mine? - 45

Here is a song to sing to do the measuring
What did you lose, what did you gain, what did you win?

Bass and treble heal every hurt
There's a rebel in a nylon shirt
But the words are a mystery I've heard
Till you turn it down to thirty-three and a third
'Cause it helps with the elocution
Corporations turn revolutions - 45

I heard something peculiar said
"Perhaps he's got a shot" and "Now he's dead" - 45
So don't you weep and shed(?)
Just change my name instead
But what do you lose when it all goes to your head?

Bells are chiming and tears are falling
It creeps up on you without a warning - 45
Every scratch, every click, every heartbeat
Every breath that I've blessed
I'll be lost I confess - 45 45 45

und als bonus noch den text vom cornershop-stück:

Brimful Of Asha

There's dancing behind movie scenes
Behind the movie scenes - Sadi Rani
She's the one that keeps the dream alive,
From the morning, past the evening,
Till the end of the light
Brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Well, it's a brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Well, it's a brimful of Asha on the forty-five
and singing illuminate the main streets and the cinema aisles
We don't care about no government warning
about that promotion of the simple life and the dams they are building

CHORUS
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow,
everybody needs a bosom
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow,
everybody needs a bosom
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow,
everybody needs a bosom

Mine's on the forty-five

Lata Mangeshka (forty-five)

Mon public (forty-five)

Vielen Dank, Martin und Mosquito!
Das Lied heißt tatsächlich weder fourty-five noch forty-five noch fortyfive oder fourtyfive, sondern es ist das "Brimful of Asha".

Also, danke euch. Anders wär ich nie drauf gekommen.

Was heißt eigentlich Asha? Ich check den Text auch nicht... ;-)

"asha" = "ash" = Asche

"full to the brim" = randvoll

"on a 45" = auf einer Vinyl-Single (die mit 45 RPM gespielt werden muss)
